Erin Hunt is a painter currently living and working on Fogo Island, NL. Drawing from a constellation of found ephemera, elements in nature, and fragments of family life, Hunt creates vivid spatial environments in her paintings through colour and raw material relationships. Hunt's work is informed by the ways we encounter and process the world through the body and consciousness. Her intimate abstract works explore the emotional nature of experience and the shape this gives to a sense of space, time, and materiality in creative practice.
Hunt holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Ottawa, and a Master’s degree in Architecture from Dalhousie University. Recent exhibitions have included the Bonavista Biennale, NL; JK Contemporary, Fogo Island; The Plumb Gallery, Toronto; Fogo Island Arts Gallery, Fogo; The Painting Center, New York; and Front Gallery, Houston.
